Meet Dr. Chapman, a distinguished surgeon known for his proficiency in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. With a foundation in Biology from Dartmouth College and a medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School, his expertise is both broad and deep. Dr. Chapman’s journey in medicine was propelled by a health profession scholarship from the United States Army, leading him to complete his surgical training at the prestigious Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. His commitment to service continued as an attending surgeon at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Dr. Chapman’s passion for minimally invasive surgery inspired him to initiate the Minimally Invasive Bariatric Fellowship at the Brody School of Medicine, where he not only imparted his knowledge but also led the training program from 2008 to 2015. His efforts were instrumental in establishing the Vidant Minimally Invasive Center of Excellence, evolving into the Bariatric Center of Excellence. From 2005 to 2015, Dr. Chapman was at the helm of minimally invasive and bariatric surgery for Vidant, marking a decade of leadership and innovation.
